James C. “Scotty” Cartwright, grandfather of current President Kristi J. Tully, started the Lincoln Agency, Inc. in 1954. Scotty’s first office was located in the town of Hamlin but he decided he could better serve customers by having an office added to his home, where it remains today. Great service and customer satisfaction has always been the main focus of the Lincoln Agency.
Scotty’s daughter, Jo Ann, came to work for him in the early 1970’s. Jo Ann built the business into a thriving insurance agency. She worked countless hours bringing the office into the age of technology with little help from technicians.
Lincoln Agency has always employed family and local residents without turnover. In 1997, Jo Ann’s daughter Kristi came to work for the agency. Kristi learned all aspects of operating the company and in 2003 when Jo Ann retired, she became President of Lincoln Agency.
After three generations, the Lincoln Agency,Inc. continues to serve residents of Lincoln County as well as surrounding counties in the state of West Virginia. The same philosophy applies today as it did for Kristi’s grandfather over 50 years ago. As with Scotty and Jo Ann, you won’t find the owner in an office down the hall away from customers. She will be greeting customers as they enter the office. Lincoln Agency, Inc. continues to provide “Insurance Protection with Confidence”.
